Actors Workout

PLEASE NOTE:  The Actors Workout will be on break until Monday, January 12, 2009. We will still accept submissions for auditions during this time. Please contact lilys@guthrietheater.org with any questions about the class.  

 

The Actors Workout is a highly individual training program focusing on each actor's needs. The classes will deal with issues relevant to an actor's creative process as well as various working circumstances. Presented in a supportive and challenging training environment, it is designed to nurture and free the actor's individual creative spirit allowing more creativity, openness and courage. Scene presentations from film and theater are the primary focus with critiques following.

This is an ongoing or continuous class. This gives the actor the ability to have a place to work during unemployment with the freedom and flexibility to leave once employment arises without sacrificing their unused pre-paid classes.

Mondays 1:30 - 5 p.m.
Classes will reconvene on January 12, 2009  

For Ages: 18 and up
Cost:
$104 for 4 weeks

Teaching Artist: Raye Birk is an accomplished stage, film and television actor with nearly 150 television appearances and 20 feature films to his credit, and it all began with an internship at the Guthrie Theater. Raye moved on from the Guthrie to teaching at Southern Methodist University and as a performer, instructor, director and administrator for the prestigious American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco. Raye has most recently been seen in the Guthrie Theater's production of The Government Inspector.
